Om Labs is one person inside the problems that still stand between us and a quantum computer that holds.
Two years ago I read the book 'Quantum Supremacy' by Michio Kaku. The problems it named got into me — and the harder ones, the ones between us and a machine that actually holds, have not let go.
Why I started Om Labs
In 2024 December, I picked up 'Quantum Supremacy' by Michio Kaku. I was not looking for a company. I was looking for a problem I could not put down. But A year passed and no real work produced by me. So Early 2026 I jumped into it. The first feeling was appetite. Medicines we cannot design. Materials we cannot see. Questions sitting just past what any classical machine can finish. I wanted in. Then the second feeling arrived, and it was heavier. To get there we need quantum computers that stay coherent — that do not drown in their own noise. Decoherence. Error rates that eat the answer. Photons that vanish. Materials that refuse to behave. That gap is not a pitch deck. It is a pile of unsolved, human-scale problems. I felt the weight of them. I still do. I started Om Labs to live inside that stack. Curious. Unsentimental. Working on it now.
